Vision

Living wetlands, sustainable future

Challenges
Since ancient times, humans have settled along water bodies. Regions with the fastest economic growth and densest populations worldwide are mostly adjacent to wetlands.

Wetlands hold the vast majority of usable freshwater resources on Earth. They deliver a full spectrum of core ecological functions, including water conservation, water purification, biodiversity conservation and climate regulation. As an essential environmental foundation and critical ecological barrier for human survival, wetlands underpin global sustainable development. Nevertheless, wetlands are among the most threatened ecosystems across the globe today.

To advance global biodiversity conservation, climate governance and sustainable development goals, and build a planet where humans and nature coexist in harmony, we must act swiftly to curb wetland degradation and loss.
Solutions
We firmly believe that adopting a nature conservation and environmental education model with broad public participation, and putting Nature-based Solutions (NbS) into practice, constitutes the core pathway for wetland ecosystem conservation and restoration.

Acting as a core convening platform, we integrate resources from all sectors of society to deliver wetland restoration, public education and policy outreach. We enable efficient collaboration among diverse social partners and maximize the value of all resources.
